Hello everyone! I hope your families are having a wonderful Spring season so far. I thought I would share a fun activity that the whole family can do together. This activity teaches children about the sun and things we like about the sunshine. They can practice gross motor skills, problem solving, speaking and listening while creating this cute sun catcher to hang in a window.
What you will need:
Clear, disposable cups, one for each family member
Rainbow of colors of tissue paper, torn into small pieces
Glue
Ribbon
Small paint brush
Making a sun catcher is fun and easy. To start off, turn the cup over with the top side down and the bottom side up. Brush the cup with glue and press tissue paper onto the glued part. I would suggest working on one half of the cup at a time so the glue doesn't stick to your fingers. The tissue paper will stick very well to the cup. Work on the second half until the cup is covered in the colors of your choice. Dilute a bit of glue with water in a small cup and brush the mixture on the completed cup. Allow to dry and glue a ribbon on the top of the cup(which is the bottom) and hang in a window. The sun catcher will bring in the sun's beautiful rays and everyone will have a great time making these cute creations! Have a great summer!
